We all know about the hype of crochet hairstyles; it’s been so popular in recent years and it is here to stay. We decided to take the time out to dive into some of the very basic things you should know about crochet hairstyles, what it is, the different styles and how to install them. We are keeping it short and straight to the point this week, but you have to keep reading to find all the tips, including what we think is the best braiding pattern.
What are crochet hairstyles? Crochet hairstyles is a method of adding already styled hair extensions to your hair by means of a hooked needle.
It goes without saying that we are huge fans of crochet hairstyles here at Umona Hair, from the classic Havana Mambo twists, braids, curls and straight loose hair, you are only ever a couple of hours from your dream hairstyle. One of the best things about crochet hairstyles is that it is effortless and quick to install. We decided to put aside our biases and show you some of our favorite crochet looks as seen on celebrities and influencers.
So, how do you install your crochet Hairstyle. Let’s start with what you’ll need: crochet hair of your choice, hook needle, comb to part your hair when cornrowing and lastly, some oil to apply to your scalp to keep it healthy.
You begin by braiding your natural hair into cornrows (you can also add extensions to your cornrow if you need to), following this you loop the crochet hair through the cornrows using a hooked needle.
Finally, it’s the tip you’ve waiting for; the best braid pattern to get your hairstyle popping. We suggest, parting around your circumference (minus the front) and cornrow individually going up, this helps with tying your hair up.
