Although crochet hairstyles have been around for decades, it has become a hype in more recent years. We decided to take some time to tell you a few things about the crochet hair method.
Crochet hairstyles are a method of adding hair extensions to your hair by means of a hooked needle.
There are various benefits of crochet hairstyles, the most obvious being that it is effortless and quick to install. In comparison to actual braids, twists/ other protective hairstyles, crochet hairstyles are a lot gentler on the hair. Crochet hairstyles allow you to create different styles and experiment with your look. It’s easy to change your hair colour and even easier to blend the hair to match your roots since your natural hair won’t be too visible. More importantly, crochet hairstyles can get you the same effect as regular braids and twists in half the time and it’s a lot cheaper too.
What do you need for your crochet hairstyle?
You begin by braiding your natural hair into cornrows (you can also add extensions to your cornrow if you need to), following this you loop the crochet hair through the cornrows using a hooked needle. It’s literally that simple, try it!
Check out our beautiful Olaj Arel's tutorial on YouTube, she explains how you would install the crochet hair. She used our blue Havana Mambo Twists.
We also have Candyglam’s tutorial and she used the brown Faux Locs
The lovely Yomi did a tutorial on how to distress your Faux Locs, and we are here for it so be sure to check her out.
