One of the great benefits of our heat-resistant synthetic wigs is that they can be styled on low heat with straighteners or curlers. Additionally, they can also be styled using flexi-rods or rollers.
Before we get into the ways mentioned above, there are some important things to note about caring for your wig:
! Only style your wig once it is completely dry - Brushing whilst wet can stretch and damage synthetic fibers of your wig
! De-tangle your wigs before styling– carefully comb the hair from the bottom up to rid the wig of any knots and secure the hair to a mannequin head to make styling easier.
! Only use products specially created for synthetic wigs– From shampoos and conditioners to sprays and mousse, using products formulated for synthetic fibers, the correct products will help maintain your wig and prevent damage
STRAIGHTENING OR CURLING YOUR SYTHETIC WIG WITH ELECTRIC TOOLS
Perhaps the easiest way to style our heat-resistant synthetic wigs is with heat styling tools up to 180°C (approximately 350°F). You can remove kinks with straighteners or add luscious curls with tongs or a curling wand.
Set your styling tool to the appropriate heat setting and test on an inconspicuous area of the wig
Section the hair and curl each section – If you want big curls, you can section the hair into large sections but if you are looking to achieve smaller curls, separate the wig into smaller sections.
When straightening, run your straighteners from the roots to ends and leave the hair to cool. When curling your wig, hold or pin the curl in place until it cools completely for a tighter curl.
CURLING YOUR SYNTHETIC WIG WITH HOT WATER OR STEAM
Section the hair and roll the hair around the flexi-rods or rollers – use smaller rollers rods for tight curls and larger rods for larger, loose curls.
Dip the wig into a bowl with hot water for 20-30 seconds then leave the hair in the rods until they cool and dry completely. Alternatively, you can use a clothing steamer to gently apply some steam directly to wig.
Once the hair has dried around the rods, gently remove the rods. You may want to separate the curls for additional volume or run a wide-tooth comb through the hair for a softer look.
